About

A fanlisting is a place for all the fans of a particular show, movie, actor/actress, singer, etc. to come together and build the biggest listing of people all around the world who are fans of that subject. You can learn more about the idea behind it at TFL.org or you can even apply to get your very own fanlisting.

This fanlisting is for the relationship between Sydney Bristow and Will Tippin, from the television show Alias. At the start of the show, Will is one of Sydney's best friends but doesn't know about her being an undercover agent for SD-6 or the CIA. However, after the murder of Sydney's fiancee, will starts investigating the death and discovers several aspects which are suspicious. He ends up uncovering SD-6 as an organisation and ends up being kidnapped by them. It is then when he discovers who Sydney really is, as she is the one who rescuses him. After coming to terms with it, Will becomes her confidant about her secret life, and he is unoficially hired by the CIA for research purposes. However, Will once again puts his life in danger when he discovers more than he should about a secret project and he has to be put into the Witness Protection Program when Sydney disappears and is presumed dead. Throughout this, the two of them remain best friends and even share a kiss early in the series.

Although Will was only a regular character on the show for the first two seasons, the relationship lasts longer than that due to two guest appearences - 'Remnants' (season three) and 'There's Only One Sydney Bristow' (season five). In the first of his guest appearences, Will has to be sought out by Sydney after there is a threat to his life, and the two of them must go undercover and pose as British rock stars. In Will's final appearance, Anna Espinosa plants a bomb in Will's head and Sydney has to save his life. In this episode it's made clear that the two of them have kept in touch and is revealed that Will wants Sydney to be the best man at his wedding.

The relationship between Sydney and Will is my favourite on the show. Although the pair kissed near the beginning of the series it's clear that they are meant to be best friends who would do anything for the other. Even after Will finds out that Sydney has been lying to him about her job, he understands why he does it and the two become closer which I love. I think they have the strongest friendship on the show and even though they don't speak for several years they would still do anything for the other.

The title 'Genuine' was thought of by the amazing Morgan after I was incredibly stuck coming up with one myself.
