Welcome to Fan-Fucking-Tastic, the only TFL approved fanlisting for the television show Queer as Folk (the US version). Produced by Showtime, the show ran from 2001-2006. Based on the British mini-series of the same name, the show was a hit on the cable network. The show is set in Pittsburgh, PA, and centers around a group of gay friends living in the city, however, they're not the gay and lesbian stereotypes that most shows have come to use. At the forefront of the show, there's Brian Kinney, unashamedly gay and the guy who everyone wants to have, including his best friend Michael. However, when Brian meets Justin, 17 and coming to terms with his sexuality, his life turns upside down. One of the things I love about the show is that it portrays people who are gay in a totally different way to most television shows. They are often portrayed as sex-hungry and flamboyant and those some of the characters on Queer as Folk do show these traits, they are a very diverse group of characters. The issues that it dealt with were always handled in a mature way but never shoved a point of view down the viewer's throat. It's one of my favourite shows, with memorable characters and quotes and although it sometimes goes over the top, it's always fun. If you're a fan of the fabulous show Queer as Folk then please join the fanlisting.

Michael: This is where it all began...
Brian: ...and ended.
Michael: But it's who we are. It's what made us.
Brian: Didn't you say that this was all just a cheap illusion? That outside life goes on and in here nothing ever changes?
Michael: I did say that, yes, but that was before I realized that some things aren't meant to change. Dance with me.
