Welcome to Maniacal, the only TFL approved fanlisting for fantastic villian The Joker from the Batman series of films and comics. The Joker first appeared in Batman #1, and was first portrayed as a goofy trickster and thief, however, more recent writers show him as a violent psychopath. In the first Batman (1989) movie, he was played by Jack Nicolson, and in the upcoming Batman: The Dark Knight (2008) movie, he is rumoured to be played by Heath Ledger. The Joker is definitely my favourite Batman villian, I love Jack Nicholson's portrayal of him, and just hope that Heath Ledger can match it.
