This fanlisting is for the talented actor, Jake Gyllenhaal. After appearing in October Sky, Jake first really became noticed for his lead role in the 2001 independent movie, Donnie Darko. Since then, Jake hs appeared in several movies, including The Good Girl, The Day After Tomorrow, Jarhead, Brokeback Mountain and most recently, Zodiac. He's one of the hottest young actors around in Hollywood at the moment, but unlike most actors, he says he isn't in it for the money, rather, he wants to make a message with every character that he portrays. The title 'Part of the Message' comes from a quote from Jake - "I pick projects because of what it's trying to say - I want to be a part of it, for the message." There were two titles that we considered before we settled on 'Part of the Message', and it is true about Jake, he doesn't pick the projects just for the money, or at least, he doesn't seem to, and it shows in his role choices as well. Originally, the fanlisting was called 'Lovely & Amazing', and had been called this since the fanlisting was first opened. However, we felt that it was time for a change and a name which was more fitting to Jake as a person.
